Background
The Joint Venture Farming Group was formed in 2003 to serve the needs of a growing number
of farmers who are involved with some form of collaboration at the primary production level.
Objectives
- To provide a forum for owners, managers and employees involved with joint venture farming to exchange knowlodge and ideas
- To provide a forum for benchmarking physical and financial performance
- To provide a forum for political lobbying (via the NFU) on matters that affect joint venture farming businesses
- To provide a force to influence machinery manufacturers
- To provide a means of communication between members
- To provide training for directors and staff
- To explore any potential commercial opportunities for the benefit of the group and it's members
The Benchmarking Project
The group has recently secured EMDA funding to assist with the development of a very powerful benchmarking program that allows members of the group to compare their physical and financial performance with other members.
The Group is also grateful for the financial support for this project from Claas UK Ltd and Simba International Ltd.
